Demolition, as it relates to site preparation, is the act of tearing down an unwanted structure and tearing up concrete and unwanted pavement or asphalt.
You may have an old structure on your property that is in disrepair and needs to come down. We will help you pull the permits to get this going. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we often come across properties with old homes, sheds or barns that can no longer be used. Once we demolish those, we remove the debris.
Other times you are doing some home renovations and no longer want that swimming pool or cracked driveway. Whatever the demolition job is, we can help.
To some of us, an old barn or shed creates a feeling of nostalgia, while others see them as an eye sore. They can also be dangerous and of course a nuisance if they are in the way of where you want to build your own structure.
The same goes for old houses. We like to imagine the home when it was first built, vibrant and full of life. Did a family live here? Were there dogs running around while kids played in the sprinklers? Again, an old house can be dangerous, an eye sore and a nuisance and may need to come down.
Did you know that a new driveway can increase the value of your home up to 10%? If your driveway is cracked or uneven with tripping hazards, you may want to consider a new one. Think of your driveway as the welcome mat to your home. It’s the first thing most people see when they pull up. This is equally as true for the sidewalk in front of your home. If tree roots have caused the sidewalk to come up, you will want to have this fixed for safety and aesthetics.
There are a few options for demolishing old swimming pools. The most expensive thing is to remove all the materials and haul them away. A cheaper option would be to remove the deck around the pool (usually made of concrete) and about 1 foot down of the structure and fill in the pool with dirt.
