In short, excavation is dirt moving! Excavation is the process of moving dirt and other materials using equipment. Excavation is done to prepare a site for building a structure, erosion control, trenching and drainage.
Site prep is a vital step to your project. Depending on what you are preparing the site for, you may need grading & leveling done. If you are prepping for a home to be built, you want to make sure your site has adequate slope for water run off so that water isn’t running into your home. You also want to be sure that all roots are pulled up from where the foundation will sit so that there is no rotting that occurs. Sometimes, site prep is simply removing the unwanted shrubs and trees from the land. Other times, it’s removing an old house or structure.
Site prep also includes preparing the site for smaller structures such as an ADU, shed or parking pad.
Dirt work is a little bit of everything. It’s moving dirt around to get your site ready for whatever you want to do with it. Maybe you want to build trails on your property, build a home, install a pool, create a pasture, add a shed, create a sports court, plan a new driveway. It’s digging, leveling, grading and making sure that erosion is controlled on the site. Sometimes it's a small amount of moving and other times it's a lot.
Sewer pipes and other utilities need to be laid underground. Trench digging is a simple idea but can be extremely time consuming if you don’t have the right equipment. We can help with your trenching needs.
LEVELING
Leveling is the flattening, compacting and measuring of the site where the project is being installed. When doing most building projects, leveling needs to occur. Whether sidewalks, driveways, patios or foundations, leveling allows these items to be installed with stability.
GRADING
Grading is shaping the land at the site to allow for natural drainage. The idea is to move the water away from the building to protect the foundation and prevent soil erosion, saturation and the problems that come along with water damage. Grading can be useful in landscape improvement, surface drainage & foundation work
Everyone knows the Pacific Northwest gets a lot of rain. This means our yards need proper drainage in order to make sure they don’t turn into unusable swamps. Sometimes that’s as straightforward as installing a French Drain, other times it involves more grading and leveling services.
Retaining walls can completely change the landscape of your property. They can turn an unusable sloped hill into an entertainer's dream or a great place for kids to play.
Sometimes your project actually needs dirt! Maybe you are landscaping your yard and want some mounds to mimic the rolling hills of a golf course or you’re adding a retaining wall and need dirt to help stabilize the area. These are just a couple of examples where soil import is what you need. Importing soil is sometimes needed in back filling as well.
Whether for landscape design, driveways or drainage, we can deliver for you.
Swimming pools and ponds are lovely additions to yards. Ponds can create a peaceful meditation spot providing a gentle white noise to counter the busyness of the day to day. There are many options for in-ground pools that we can help with. Once we do our part, your job is to fill the pool with family, friends, laughter and good times.
Debris removal is included in all of our services, however sometimes you have your own debris and need it removed. We do that too. Construction/demo debris, concrete, asphalt, brick, brush, stumps, metal, lumber
